The Veterans Family Fund of America is dedicated to raising and dispersing funds to improve the lives and futures of Washington State veterans and their families to include areas not covered by government programs.
Our influence covers Thurston and Pierce Counties in Washington. In the census of 2010, Pierce County had 87,888, the second largest number of veterans in the state. Thurston County had 29,243 veterans, it ranks as number seven for its veterans population in the state. Overall, Washington has a total of 607,737 veterans and ranks number eight in America population of veterans.
VFFA is backed by the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs and the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions. Governor Christine Gregoire has been a strong friend to VFFA and has worked on our behalf as appropriate within Washington State government. Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell and their staff have been strong supporters of the program on the federal level, offering timely advice and stanch leadership.
Administrative overheads are kept very low by using the professional case management services of the state’s Veterans Affairs office; we need just enough staff and permanent location for auditable financial processes and to lead the organization to serve America’s military and their families with pride as they have served America with honor.
Please call, write, donate or design a project. Take the time to look at the different ways you can help veterans, if not with us, look within your community. Thanks for all of your help and deeds.
